PRAISE FOR THE ARTISTS:

“…Gabriel Ba’s (Casanova) fantastic Mignola-esque artwork, unflaggingly beautiful no matter how ugly things get…” – Boston Weekly Dig

“Becky Cloonan…[is a] vividly expressive artist.” – Entertainment Weekly

“…Lolos has a firm grasp on how to convey tension and fear with little or no words, relying on skewed panel angles and the looks on his characters stylized faces to convey the message.” – Ain’t It Cool News

“Fabio is an extraordinary artist…” – Joss Whedon

“Visually [Rafael Grampá] may be the most accomplished new cartoonist of the past two or three years.” – The Comics Journal

BIO INFORMATION:

GABRIEL BA & FABIO MOON – Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá are twin brothers, who live in São Paulo and like to be in love. They love, above all, the art of telling stories, with pictures, where the most remarking images are not those in the page, but the ones between each panel, in the moments we look around and imagine ourselves inside the story and smile. Images that exist only on the reader’s imagination.

Currently, Gabriel is working on the second series of The Umbrella Academy and the two brothers will team up with Mike Mignola and Josh Dysart on the upcoming BPRD 1947. Fábio and Gabriel have their big break at Vertigo, writing and drawing their own series called Daytripper. They love comics and they’ll keep writing and drawing their own stories forever.

BECKY CLOONAN – Becky grew up in New England where she failed science and had a metal screw surgically implanted in her lower jaw. Her interests include ancient rocks, sea monsters, black holes and mystic cave zones. Besides a plethora of comics, flyers, tshirts and posters, Becky has done work for GQ, Disney, Absolut Vodka, CunninLynguists, Leftover Crack, Sunkist, and the cult classic Super Troopers.

RAFAEL GRAMPA – Rafael Grampá began working as an illustrator at the age of 14. He began by illustrating self-help books – what he calls the “how to raise your problematic teenagers sort”. During this period, he also did t-shirt designs, caricatures, children’s party decorations, coats of arms and logos for butcher shops and surf shops. He worked as an art director at the Brazilian motion graphics studio LOBO in 2003 where he worked with clients such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Creme Savers, Banco Real, Grendene , Diesel and others. Recent freelance work includes the concept design for ESPN-NBA spots, for Wieden+Kennedy NY, directed by Blacklist’s CISMA, and the visual ID for RESFEST/10 Brasil, that includes a opening and a toy.

VASILIS LOLOS – Vasilis Lolos hails from Athens, Greece where the majority of his work has been published. Instead of translating his older work, he decided to just make new ones in English. Vasilis’ work can be seen in the pages of The Pirates of Coney Island (Image Comics), 24Seven (Image Comics), and the Graphic Novel The Last Call which he wrote and drew for Oni Press. He also self-publishes several mini comics. He takes his kafe with cream, sugar, and cigarettes. This is very serious business. He is also dissapointed with the lack of Nescafe in America. What is it with you Americans and your drip coffee?! Oh, the unimmaginable horror of it ALL!
